Planner decoration ideas for The Happy Planner Classic. June 2020

Summer is almost here! And this is the perfect time to decorate your June planner spreads, set up your goals and plan activities for the first summer month.

Here are a few ideas for your June bucket list:

Make a strawberry smoothie
Go on a boat ride
Play tennis

I usually do my planner decoration in advance and I’ve already decorated all June spreads for my MAMBI vertical planner and they are ready for my big plans for the entire month.

THE HAPPY PLANNER MONTHLY SPREAD

Planner decoration. June 2020 — The Happy Planner decor. June, 2020

Expecting the first summer month to be warm and relaxing, I’ve decided to use red and pink watercolor stickers with delicate outlined wildflowers as a main theme. I didn’t want to overload the planner spread and used just the optimal number of stickers, to keep the month layout light and airy. The purely decorative watercolor stickers are mixed with some darkly colored functional elements, like party icons and checklist strips. These contrasting spots grab attention and help to highlight important records on the page.

As a part of planner decoration, I like to add some motivational lines to the page. It helps me to move forward despite any circumstances. My motivation line for this June is: If it makes you happy, do it!

June gave a nice present for all perfectionists, like me – 1st of June is Monday! I am just happy! 🙂

To celebrate this, I used a pink and gray colour theme for this week’s layout. A few watercolour spots complement the original layout design. Cute pink labels To Do and Reminder, today task boxes and wide gray washi tapes create a fancy look of this layout. The pink washi stripe reminds you about the importance of taking care of yourself, which is really important nowadays during the pandemic. Additionally, the pink flag calls you to relax and let it go. 🙂

This week motivation – the gray full box ‘You are exactly where you need to be’ with delicate white flower silhouettes in the background. And, last, but not least – a big Weekend sign, which won’t allow me to forget to enjoy the weekend time with my friends and family.

Like many of the planner girls, I prefer to take pages out off for planner decoration. It’s much easier to place stickers and washi tapes, when the pages are free from disks. Sometimes I do it even for writing plans for Wednesday, to make room for my hand while writing.

This time the theme is colorful and bright. As it’s summer, I made this week spread full of love, flowers and birds. Fantasy flower and succulent composition stickers are the main decoration for the second week of June. A few motivational reminders about World beauty and love around us are going to keep my mood up for the entire week.

I wanted to keep this week functional as well. Bright Pay Day labels and heart checklist strips suit the spread theme perfectly. Following the suggestion from previous week layout to take care of yourself, I planned some workouts and relaxations. Small square pink and gray icons work great for vertical planner layout: they clearly show the type of activity and keep space in the row to add some details like time and place.

For my week’s important tasks I put my favourite square checkboxes in the left side bar. I really love this small mess they make!

This week’s layout turned out to be amazing! Quite unbalanced and cheerful, it has a fancy pink-gray base and really bright red spots of stickers from the Elixir of Happiness sticker sheet. These stickers bring to the planner layout something warm, cozy and magical at the same time. The cup of coffee, peace of cake, some magic elixir in the small bottle, pair of keys, cute warm heart and bunch of lighted candles – this makes this planner decoration so cozy and bright.

Apart from these fully decorative and atmospheric elements, there are a lot of functional stickers that are used for this week spread. Already traditional, pink today task box and messy square checkboxes make a structure of Wednesday and Friday agendas. Gray frames are perfect for highlighting something important, like an appointment or some great idea. But my favourite functional elements of this week – pink flags with stars. I used them to form my To Do list for Thursday.

I don’t have a lot of plans for this week (yet?). That’s why I decided to decorate the whole middle section of the vertical week layout. To keep the summer mood present, I chose wildflowers for my planner decoration. Just imagine: a huge field of wildflowers, full of freedom and happiness! This is how I feel, when I see this week spread.

For now, I’ve used gray and pink checklists, flags and star boxes only to structure my week agenda. I will definitely add something else for my functional planner decoration closer to the last week of June.
